Here at the Soberton Stud we have several mares at present.

Shorelands Red Sonja

13.2hh Registered Chestnut Welsh Section C Mare.

Sonia has been at the stud for at least 10 years. She has bred many foals. These have been Welsh Section C's and D's and Coloured part breds. As a youngster Sonia was shown in-hand before becoming a brood mare at the stud.Sonia has also been broken to ride. However her true talents are being a first class mum. She even been known to try to steal other mares foals if she hasn't got her own!!

Soberton Venus

Venus was bred at the stud 12 years ago. She has been shown in-hand at national level with much success. She has als bred two foals both blue roans by Arllwyn Daffyd (see stallions page).Venus was broken to ride in the spring of 2004 by Sarah. Venus competed under saddle at local shows at the end of her first year under saddle, She was supreme ridden champion and supreme native champion on her first outing! Venus successfully competed at a variety of shows last year, including the ridden welsh C &D  class at the New Forest Show, in which she was placed 6th out of 36. An achievement that we are very proud of.Venus will be competing in ridden classes again in 2008.

Rhystyd Glory

Glory is a lovely mare with an exquisite head. Glory's 2007 foal by Griff was a very pretty dark bay foal, who is an exact copy of her mum. Glory is in foal to Daffyd for 2008. See youngstock page

Mabel was purchased from Wickham Fair some years ago. She has proved an invaluable broodmare. She has produced many top quality foals with wonderful temperaments. Although Mabel may noy be the prettiest lady around, she is worth her weight in gold as she is such a lovely person and top class mum!

Nellie

14hh Palomino and White New Forest X Arab mare.

Nellie is mum to Soberton Graffitti (see stallions page). As well as being a wonderful brood mare she has also had much success in the show ring both in-hand and under saddle with Sarah.Nellie is an eye catcher due to her unusual colour and her long floating movement. Nellie has now produced 2  very beautiful palamino and white  foal's  by Soberton Showman. In 2006 a handsome colt foal, Ringo and in 2007 a pretty filly, Fizz. See youngstock page

Soberton Trapeze

14.2hh Piebald Hackney x Cob

Trapeze has been successfully shown at the New Forest Show as a youngster on two occasions. Trapeze is a lively mare with bags of personality. She is by the stallion Eaglestone Arc Royal - see below

We had the pleasure of owning Arc Royal in his retirement until recently when he had to be put to sleep.Arc Royal came to us in his  retirement after a long and successful show career. He contested and won many titles in his career, including Horse of the Year Show. We are extremely fortunate to have three off spring by Arc Royal here at the stud. Trapeze (above) and two bay pure hackney fillies. He is greatly missed.

Soberton Lilly

Lilly has been retained at the stud as she is Pinky's first foal. She is very special as she did not have the easist start to life, being seriously ill as a foal. She is fit and healthy now and as any other two filly, into everything! She is in foal to Splash for 2008.
